The Albuquerque City Council is expected to vote tonight on a budget amendment that would redirect Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) funds away from Vision Zero and traffic safety improvements.
For many people in our community, this is not an abstract policy debate. Recent cyclist deaths and crashes are a painful reminder that traffic violence continues to affect people walking, biking, and driving across Albuquerque. Vision Zero funding supports projects and programs intended to make our streets safer and prevent future tragedies.
Community members still have time to make their voices heard.
