Albuquerque cyclists and community members will come together next Wednesday evening for the annual Ride of Silence, a silent group bicycle ride covering a 5.2-mile loop dedicated to honoring cyclists who have been killed or injured on public roadways and raising awareness that cyclists are present and vulnerable users of the transportation system.

This year’s ride comes during a particularly difficult week for cyclist safety in Albuquerque, underscoring the ongoing need for improved infrastructure, driver awareness, and accountability to prevent future tragedies.Participants will ride in silence, creating a powerful visual message of remembrance and solidarity. The event encourages cyclists and supporters of all ages to take part, with safety emphasized for all riders.

Participants are asked to wear helmets, use lights, and bring a bicycle bell to ring in honor of those who can no longer ride.

The ride will begin at 7:00 PM at Tiguex Park, 1800 Mountain Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87104, and will follow a 5.2-mile loop route.

All are welcome to attend and participate in this annual global event, which takes place in communities around the world.
