PNM has released its 2024–2025 eBike Rebate Survey Report, offering a look at how the state's eBike rebate program is influencing transportation choices across New Mexico.
According to the survey, most respondents were first-time eBike owners, and many reported using their eBikes to replace trips they would have otherwise made by car. Participants also indicated that they are riding more frequently and using their eBikes for a variety of everyday purposes, including commuting, errands, recreation, and visiting friends and family.
The findings suggest that eBike incentive programs can help make bicycling accessible to a broader range of people while reducing vehicle miles traveled, lowering transportation costs, and encouraging more active lifestyles.
As advocates for safer, more connected bicycling throughout Albuquerque, BikeABQ is encouraged to see programs that help more people discover the benefits of riding for transportation and recreation.
