Help shape the future of Lomas Blvd—new transit lanes and signal upgrades are on the table, and public input now can push this key corridor closer to true Complete Streets.

Lomas Blvd Redesign: Have Your Say

January 25, 2026 at 10:52:13 PM

The City of Albuquerque is proposing updates to Lomas Blvd from Girard to San Pedro, including new Business Access & Transit (BAT) lanes and modernized traffic signals. While the current proposal doesn’t add dedicated bike facilities, improved signals could meaningfully boost pedestrian safety, crossings, and future multimodal options along one of the city’s most challenging corridors.

Lomas links UNM and UNMH, grocery stores, schools, and trail access—but today it often feels like a barrier for people walking and biking. Even incremental changes matter, and public input can help push this project to better reflect the City’s Complete Streets goals.
